Conclusion

In conclusion, many elements of the Toledo Cathedral most certainly draw from Muslim, Jewish, and French traditions. There are connections between the Great Mosque of Cordoba and the Toledo Cathedral. Jewish religious scholars most certainly had an effect on the carvings in the choir screen. The entire cathedral was planned from the very beginning with the Gothic tradition in mind by someone who most likely studied in France. The Toledo Cathedral is a marvelous example of multiple cultures, perhaps not living in harmony, but coexisting side by side! It is very important for everyone, not just historians, to consider the cultural history of their physical monuments and structures, as it may help people understand to live in a more pluralistic society.
